For anyone that may still be trying achievement runs there is a really easy method to this I just done. You don't actually need to get through any gates. There is an entrance on the south west side completely open that leads you to the houses you see at 30:03 on the left of the screen. As soon as you start, research dry dock, sell resources to get redemption and sanctity (I messed up but I believe you also have enough for the new monk tech 15% conversion resistance). Put your light cav and monks into the transport ship and walk your 2 knights and 3 pikemen to the left at the outside of your allies wall (to save a little moving time whilst waiting for dry dock). Land where T-west does at 29:18 and follow the wall to the south, enter the open entrance. When you find yourself at the houses you see at 30:03 send the 2 knights to the mangonel, the scout to the monk which you can see just north of the cathedral/south of the siege workshop, the 3 pikeman to the south of the cathedral to take the light cavs and send your monks directly to the cathedral. I believe another monk appeared east of the first one, send your light cav there after the first and your knights and pikes can then run interference whilst you finish converting. I only lost 1 pike this way and was no trouble at all. Quick simple and easy.

I think they implemented a random walk algorithm instead. The drunk villager eventually finds their way.

Interesting. Cell triggers also exist on the Command and Conquer series up to the first two generations (Tiberium Dawn, Red Alert. Tiberian Sun, Red Alert 2 - these are grid-based systems running on variants of the same engine). Although not specifically exploiting the in-game timer, you can sometimes move infantry to skip over a 1-tile wide trigger line. Which is why most triggers use at least 2-tile widths for safety.

I see your angle on Autoqueue and i'm happy you have been granted a bandaid solution where it's disabled on military units. It does not slow you down whereas babysitting production buildings slows you down and loses you games which is the treadmill work for most RTS games. Aom has a unique identity with that autoqueue and in that capacity I'm far more focused and attentive to my frontlines and doing the correct positioning and countering than checking one of the 8 barracks is not producing units which passively and silently kills my tempo. Can't tell if the Tutorial was a rushed thing for this beta or they are honestly replacing 3 decent padding scenarios which teach you unit controls, basic rts economy and in the third scenario teaching you all about the unique mechanics in Age of Mythology. Why is "Omens" taking place in Lefkada??? Why did they turn "Consequences" in the macro/economy learning scenario??? Sure the original was very generous with your time and you could learn a lot from the economy there but there was no handholding. The handholding in "Omens" by stripping the Town Center and Athena telling you all you need to do in "Consequences" is way too much and does not take into account "Titan" difficulty players. Why can you train Heroes for the Ancient Greeks? In the original game(s) the Campaign heroes are all you need to deal with most of the Myth units, it was disabled for that reason. Odd to see Heracles/Theseus/Atlanta walking next to Arkantos and Ajax and Odysseus and not take any action in the cinematics or plotline. House placements around the towers is a "competitive" strategy to let towers shoot at targets because boiling oil is a terrible attack against melee units. Arrows do like 5x more damage than what boiling oil does.

The funny thing is that Henry seems to have historically been rather loyal up to the point that Barbarossa decided to go on his Lombard adventures. Unless he was given a city in return Henry didn't think it was worth the effort, at least after a certain point. In fact, it's after Henry fails to show up to help Frederick in crusades that the two turn swords on each other. Meaning that the Age of Empires version of Henry is playing himself up as an upstart contender for the throne of Emperor. Probably because it made for a better story.

Centaur 2hitting villagers was what made the Centaur rush and opener a viable strategy for Zeus, and yes it was unfair for those who never fought with the centaur rush, but just like the Trush in aoe2, you get the perk to figure out how to counter it with the more games you do. The new special ability is handholding my enemy to just reposition his villagers somewhere else and continue gathering the resource than force him to leave a hero or myth unit to defend his villagers. It's effectively very nerfed in the current situation that only works if my opponent doesn't pay attention to his villagers and army to move them outside of the volley area.

I think a good solution would be giving players a bit more control over tc fire. If you could delay a shot for half a second it would be a lot harder to time the dodging. I briefly tested and unfortunately ungarrisoning and regarrisoning vils doesn't give you the level of control you'd need. The tc either shoots at the same rate if you regarrison right away or there's a significant delay if you wait. It could be as simple as giving players a stop tc fire hotkey/button. I would think then it would be a bit more like mangonel micro where you're trying to time your shot to beat the other player's dodge. That said, Hera is really good at this and there's nothing stopping other players from doing this other than a need for practice.

There is a de-sync on the Kraken's special attack. Its tentacle doesn't actually grab a unit, you'll see it swinging and then that unit just flying in the air. I'm not sure if dev has been notified about this tho.
